Biomedical Research Specialist | Key Opinion Leaders in Ophthalmology
Ophthalmology is a branch that
deals with the anatomy of eyeballs and orbit and an ophthalmologist are people
who specialize in the surgery of the eyes. Eyes are the most crucial and
sensitive part in our body. Do you know your eye stays the same size as your
age advances? It is very important to take care of our eyes in a responsible
way. Many diseases capture and damage the iris, retina and the optic nerve and
a person either lose the ability to see or the sight becomes partial.
To understand the diseases such as Glaucoma
and cataract Key Opinion Leaders inOphthalmology attend the Rayner Forum every year to discuss the eye related
problems. Ophthalmologists from different places gather and talk about the
advancements in the medical field related to different eye diseases, new
products and procedures are introduced.
What are different eye diseases?
Some of the common eye problems
include redness or tiredness in the eyes. The major part of the symptoms is not
even detected early. You should visit your ophthalmologist regularly to keep
healthy eyes. Eye examinations are important to seek the problematic area and
diagnose it accordingly. Problems such as:
Sight problems- myopia, hyperopia,
presbyopia, and astigmatism are vision errors. If you find difficulty in
reading or looking at far objects then consult an ophthalmologist early.
Bulging of the eyes- swelling of
muscles and tissues behind the eyes leads to the mild popping of eyeballs from
the sockets. Bulging of eyes can also be caused by thyroid.
Squint eyes- there are cases when
the eyes are out of alignment from birth, it is called strabismus. Usually,
a painless surgery is required to correct the alignment.
Cataracts- it’s very rare when a
cataract is developed in an infant. Cataract is when a mesh-like film is formed
on the lens and the vision becomes hazy and later opaque.
Other diseases such as Glaucoma
are complex than these and require proper eye examination and a possible
surgery.
Nowadays Biomedical Research Specialists are working hard on finding the
solutions to the problems which are yet to be solved. There are many eye
related problems which need special attention.
